Sonubaits Maggot Fishmeal Groundbait 2kg
Regular price £9.99
Maggot Fishmeal is one of our most popular groundbaits, we knew maggots were one of the best baits ever and because of this, we wanted to harness their fish catching ability in the form of a groundbait.
Fishing maggots come from the blue bottle fly which is the maggot used in making Maggot Fishmeal groundbait. When the fresh maggot has reached full size it is dehydrated. By dehydrating any product it removes most of the water so concentrates and intensifies the flavour. Dehydrated maggots have a unique smell which fish can't resist. The dehydrated maggot is then crushed to release even more flavour and then added to a mixture of crushed pellets, fishmeal, breadcrumb, meat extracts and cereals creating a unique groundbait for all species of coarse fish especially Carp, F1's, Bream, Tench and Roach.
Ground maggots add a significant protein content and smell to the ground bait, a natural fish attractor, catches on this ground bait have already exceeded expectations.
Once you have added water to this you will see the bits of maggot rehydrating, releasing all of their natural attractants through the groundbait.
Andy Power (Commercial Specialist) says "This is one of my favourite groundbaits, the inclusion of dried maggots creates the perfect groundbait for all venues and species of fish as we all know every fish will feed on maggots. Dried maggots have a concentrated flavour which smells like casters. This seems to draw bigger fish in more quickly and by using Maggot Fishmeal groundbait I seem to catch a better stamp of fish which is key to winning when fishing close matches.
Mixing Guidelines
Maggot Fishmeal is simple to mix. Empty the 2kg bag of groundbait into a round mixing bucket, fill a 2-pint maggot tub with water, pour this onto the groundbait and mix thoroughly, then allow it to rest for 30 minutes, during this time the water will be absorbed into the groundbait. Then for best results; to remove any lumps and create an even consistency, pass the groundbait through a riddle and it is ready to use.
When fishing sun and wind may dry the groundbait out a little, to combat this you can cover the mixed groundbait with a damp towel or if it does dry out just add a little more water and mix again.
